Gurl Goddess
Francesca Lia Block* interviewed on Nerve.com (via bookslut)

Borrowed a copy of Girl Goddess #9 from Myrene in the late 90's. Loved it. Took a couple of years before it became available at National so I could buy it for my galpals. (And later, even Adam got teary-eyed at some point over the Dragons in Manhattan story.) Then I unearthed Weetzie Bat from a booksale bin. 2 snaps and a circle.** I liked Girl Goddess better. Weetzie was more rose-colored and sugary and sweet. In the new book, Necklace of Kisses, Weetzie is 40. Wha-?

*looks like Adam's ma in the Nerve picture.
**Hehe, sorry, i finally got those In Living Color DVDs Earns found in Quiapo.

About us

Best described as a Murakami detox support group, we're all fans of the quirkily brilliant Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, and writing about such things as films we've seen recently and books we're reading (not to mention meandering musings on the man's work, of course) helps us to pass time while waiting for the next book from Haruki-baby.
