Dragon Eye Morrison

Thunderbolt Buddha

If you get the opportunity to get Sogo Oshii's Electric Dragon 80,000V, don't pass it up. It's one crazy movie from the Japanese (well, they gave us Wild Zero and Stacy... So, I'm not surprised), which feels like Tsukamoto's Tetsuo and moves like a rock and roll video. It's just a showdown between 2 characters (Tadanobu Asano's Dragon Eye Morrison and another guy whose name in the movie is Thunderbolt Buddha). The movie features nice visuals, and a killer soundtrack. Although, the movie doesn't score points in changing the human condition or what have you, but it scored big time for being so damned entertaining. It can't get any better than this one. So, if you see it, get it!

(Meron pa pala akong mga 20 or so new movies, pero eto kasi iyong movie na in the spirit of pure fun and entertainment eh kaya I singled it out... Although, very entertaining din ang Nekromantik 2. Kaya lang, I don't think that movie is for everyone. Pero, para sa akin ang movie na iyon ay madaming "ang saya saya ano?" moments.)

P.S. Ms. Indi, me ipapa-read through lang ako sa iyo kaya lang baka next or so week pa. Kung Ok lang sa iyo. Thanks! (at oo nga po pala, Happy Belated Berdi!)

About us

Best described as a Murakami detox support group, we're all fans of the quirkily brilliant Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, and writing about such things as films we've seen recently and books we're reading (not to mention meandering musings on the man's work, of course) helps us to pass time while waiting for the next book from Haruki-baby.
