Today's comic from Toothpaste for Dinner rocks.

In Murakami-related news, heard a while back there was a film of Tony Takitani at the London film fest. Anyone know what his new novel After Dark is about? It's still in Japanese of course, and at this rate the next ice age may be here before we see the translation. But we'll finally see that English version of Kafka on the Shore next year, right? Yay! ;)

In fairness, ang ganda ng House of Flying Daggers. The 'Echo Game' was awesome and the hot pineapple-eating cop from Chungking Express is there. So is Infernal Affairs' Andy Lau-- who, I was surprised to see, got name recall from even my officemate (I knew he was both a mainstream and critically praised actor/singer in HK, like Tony Leung, but still...). Naka-duet nya na daw kasi si Tita Shawie, plus he was in that Jerry Yan of F4 film Magic Kitchen. Hahaha!

About us

Best described as a Murakami detox support group, we're all fans of the quirkily brilliant Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, and writing about such things as films we've seen recently and books we're reading (not to mention meandering musings on the man's work, of course) helps us to pass time while waiting for the next book from Haruki-baby.
