New Murakami interview?

Well, an excerpt, at least, from summer 2004. Found this in The Paris Review while trawling for Aimee Bender stories I hadn't read yet; you have to buy the issue to read the whole thing though. I miss Murakami! When will that translation of Kafka on the Shore be finished?

And these were the Bender stories I found that I hadn't read yet: The Leading Man off The Paris Review plus something about her short font stories. As Aimee says in the NY Times mag (June 22, 2003):

...I have a file called “Fonts,” where I make up different stories about fonts in the different fonts. They’re like Helvetica, who is this fully realized person in my mind. Helvetica and her vinyl boots.

About us

Best described as a Murakami detox support group, we're all fans of the quirkily brilliant Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, and writing about such things as films we've seen recently and books we're reading (not to mention meandering musings on the man's work, of course) helps us to pass time while waiting for the next book from Haruki-baby.
