am down with the mother of bad colds but am making the most of the rainy day at home with two wonderful magazines sent by wonderful pipol. music issues, both, with free Cds (yay!) am reading:
  1. the believer - the june music issue - thanks x 10 to the 9th power to Jojo and Joe of Hormell who also sent me a peek at their music collection (david byrne's latest, the decemberists, xiu xiu, mountain goats, deerhoof -parang tortoise na stereolab na may twist-) My faves of the tracks are : the Buried Bed's Camillia, Death Cab for Cutie's Title and Registration (am just noticing that the line between their sound and Postal Service's is getting blurrier, but I like! I like!). there's an interesting interview with Colin Meloy of the Decemberists, an Eddie Vedder (wow, buhay pa siya) interview by Carrie Brownstein of Sleatter-Kinney, and a fan's feature on the Elliot Smith. My fave band name in the CD incidentally is "I love you but I've chosen darkness".
  2. The Wire UK Adventures in modern music (salamat naman kay Vincenzo) hmmm. obscure music snobs sure make fascinating features, heeheee, buti nalang may CD otherwise inaccessible talaga, as in green milk from the planet orange - from the tokyo grindcore scene - what was that genre, again?
also consuming more pirated DVDs by way of greenhills. oi joel nahanap ko na yung afterlife. ganda-sad. also found a fahrenheit 911, natural city (that korean cross between blade runner and a.i. w/c i blogged about before because the promotional site was so spectacular, too bad the flick was an fx blockbuster and had nothing new to offer, plus the piano muzak....ugh, what is with that crappy piano muzak in their flicks?) and the imelda docu (shame-shame-shamelessly pirated, but am too sick to go out and catch it in the theater, which i mean to do. really)

re: insta-portrait - yes, i saw, i tweaked, i O-C'd. fun eh? sayang i just had my bangs cut (as in he-man hair na itim!) right after the tweaking so i don't look exactly like this anymore... argh. my auterity-measures compliant net access here at home sux.
how is everyone today?

Pero kebs, kasi they're so entertaining naman. Kumbaga, dedma na muna sa paintelektwal at pakyut kyut. Kasi nakakasawa minsan. heniweys, maghahanap pa nga ako ng Last Temptation of Christ kasi iyon ang hinahanap ng katrade kong netfriendliness. Ang makukuha ko namang aning eh ito: Head of the Family (look for it in the internet, it's so horribly atrocious!), Possession (hindi iyong Gwyneth Paltrow ha, manonood na lang ako ng Tromeo and Juliet...basta iyong movie with Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani), tapos Bloodsucking Freaks. Basta the last is a Trash classic kuning kuning. You know naman me, me pagkaobsessed sa kahit anong ah...trashy? Pero entertaining naman. Keber na sa iba. ;p

sige titingnan ko nanga ang recommended trash classics mo. but lemme brace meself first....heheh

Hay true. Iyong sa Fangoria, iyong iba nasa US iyong iba naman eh europe. Me pagkamahal magpadala ng dvd kasi me pagkamabigat.

Gusto ko siyang kumpletohin from 1954-2004 (at yes, magkakaron ng Godzilla ngayong taon: Godzilla: Final Wars at featuring 10, yes not 1, not 2, not 3, but 10 monsters!!! Wala nga lang si Mecha King Ghidorah. Oh well).

Hay, nakakaadik din pala ang basura once you put your mind to it.

About us

Best described as a Murakami detox support group, we're all fans of the quirkily brilliant Japanese author, Haruki Murakami, and writing about such things as films we've seen recently and books we're reading (not to mention meandering musings on the man's work, of course) helps us to pass time while waiting for the next book from Haruki-baby.
